One Little Heartbeat

One little heartbeat- thats all
Just a speck, just a straw
Soon to be a tiny blob
No hands, no feet, not even a paw

Now wait, hold on, what do i see
Here they come, the hands and the feet
A head, a face and two tiny eyes
Two ears, a mouth and i am a delight

As the weeks pass, i hurry up and grow
And now i am the size of a pine cone
Kicking around in my little paddle pool
Oh this is so much fun, so nice and so cool

Finally the day dawns when
I have to leave my little cocoon
With a wail, a cry and eyes wide open
I say hello to the world- I am born!
